2024 Wrapped.

It’s that time again where the sun shines hot and we wrap things up for the year. We take a moment to gaze back at the year that’s been and thank everyone who has helped make this the most awesome mountain bike club for miles around.

WELCOME to all our new members, it’s fantastic to see you out on your bikes – make yourself at home.

Earlier this year we were excited to share that the club and Summit Forests had signed a longer-term Land-use Agreement giving us both more security around future MTB at Whitehills. 2025 is looking exciting!

Thanks from all of us to all of you who moved some dirt, organised races, shoveled some stones, slapped  berms, finessed jumps, sprayed weeds, built bridges, carried timber, drove supplies, towed the trailer, snipped overhang, cooked the sausages, filled the wash station, did the banking, came to shuttle days, donated a few dollars or quietly tidied up a bit of track. THANK YOU!!!!

Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!!!!

There’s a ton of people and businesses that have donated equipment, money, expertise and time to help bring our dreams to life.

Thanks to Summit Forests – for enabling us to play in your forest and helping us make Whitehills the riding destination of Te Tai Tokerau. We treasure this very special place to ride.

Auto One have been AMAZING!!! Sponsoring our WOFs, and repairs to keep our hard-working shuttle truck going up and down hills in style. It’s been a big year for the truck, but she’s fitter and stronger!  Hunter Cycles - for everything bike in Kerikeri - thanks for your ongoing support of our events and adventures. Regan Polglaze for sponsoring signs again – they are looking pretty flash.

Thanks to the Whitelaw whanau and everyone who donated a little bit here and there to keep things running smoothly.

Thanks TrailFund for sending an awesome Christmas present of 3 Weapons of Mass Creation, specialist trail building tools – can't wait to see what they help create. Northland Regional Council for Kauri wash station supplies. Kerikeri Adventure Film Festival and Rotary who donated some festival proceeds to the club before handing it over to Search and Rescue. Oxford Trust have agreed to help fund a composting toilet – coming our way soon and Waipapa Glass – For EVERYTHING!

We couldn’t do it without our community! Please look out for ways to support those who support us.

Massive thanks to our TRACK BUILDERS! We absolutely love your mahi!

Summer Safety and First Aid.

Summer ride weather is here, It’s faster and the ground is harder!

Look out for each other. Ride with a buddy, Tell someone at home when to expect you back, Take your phone. Have a plan to get help if you need it.

Remember the forest is CLOSED every WEDNESDAY and 1st SATURDAY of each month.

The FIRST AID KIT has a new home in a bright ORANGE BUCKET at halfway and there's one in the SHUTTLE TRUCK.

IN AN EMERGENCY CALL 111.

EMERGENCY ACCESS - If you NEED to get a vehicle to assist an injured rider or let emergency vehicles into the forest – There is an EMERGENCY key in a lockbox. Find instructions and numbers to call for the code on the Ride with Us tab on Hivepass. Look for them now.

REPORT ACCIDENTS – help us monitor accidents and identify any hotspots

Track tools are safely stored in the toolbox - Use your carpark key to open to padlock.

In the extremely unlikely event of a FIRE - get yourself out of the forest. If getting to the carpark would be unsafe, the Fire Escape Route takes you to the bottom shuttle pickup - down “fire escape”, across the stream and up and out to farmland on the southern boundary road. Take a ride there one day - it's a 10 km loop from the carpark.

Keep the Gate Locked to keep our stuff safe

Have a good look around your hivepass app -  on the ‘Ride with Us’ tab you will find info about carpark keys, emergency access and other members bits and pieces. Look out for notifications for some fun club days this summer.

If you are bringing your visitors to rode this summer, please encourage them to use the kauri wash station as they come and go and to leave dogs at home.

It’s Ride time!

Look out for each other. Stay safe. Have a blast!
