Mountain Bike Safety  on Kerikeri MTB Club Tracks

Mountain bike safety is a bit of a thing.

Together we are responsible for the way we ride and the tracks we build so we don’t cause harm to ourselves or others and that when accidents do happen we take a moment to refine our response.

For your safety and enjoyment

  • Ride within your limits
  • Ride only on marked trails
  • Do not enter areas of the forest that are closed for logging activities
  • Ride with a friend and tell someone where you are going
  • Carry a cell phone
  • Wear the right gear
  • Be aware of unmarked hazards

Make sure you warm up before you tackle anything too far out of your comfort zone.

Safe use of tools, especially chainsaws and machinery is a high priority. That’s where you come in. We’ve added some quick and easy forms to the hivepass app. So you can help us keep track of what’s happening in the forest.

Jump onto hivepass now and have a look. Click on the menu at the bottom right and then the “Ride with us” tab

Register your Track - There’s lots of talk about new tracks, please register your idea so we can coordinate resources and create a network that works.

Report an Accident – If your ride's been sub-optimal and you needed medical help we need to know. Report an accident.

Trackwork Safety Management - Every time you pick up the tools – it takes 2 minutes! Click on the safety matrix so you know what you are agreeing to.

Thanks to all our sponsors and supporters in the community. We couldn't do it without you.
