Whitehills Forest, 8 km North of Waipapa, offers a diverse range of terrain, including plantation forest, areas of native bush, gentle rolling areas and steep gullies with over 200m of decent to play with. Kerikeri MTB are developing tracks to suit intermediate to expert riders, that interconnect and can be accessed from a single forest road with ability to offer shuttle access.
Whitehills is a busy multi-use forest with hunters, bee-keepers, forestry workers, roading maintenance, pest control and now Mountain Bikers. Kiwi live here so leave the dog at home.
Kerikeri MTB Club has permission to build and use MTB tracks for planned CLUB ACTIVITIES ONLY. Every club activity is co-ordinated with other forest users to ensure it is safe for us to be there. Whitehills is not open for public access.
Please respect this and come along to club rides and working bees.
The gate will be open at specified times only. Riders must be 16 or older or accompanied by a parent or adult who has agreed to be responsible for them.
Shuttles may operate. -there will be a cost for this
A team of dedicated volunteer trail builders are out several times a week, scouting out new tracks, forging ways through the trees, benching and berming.
